For several years now, McKesson customers have been asking us to help them evaluate whether ambulatory pharmacies are a good solution for their patient communities and relative to their financial objectives. We’ve been helping them assess and model the opportunity. And once they’ve made the decision to go forward, we’ve been helping them design the facility, manage the supply chain and workflow, merchandise the inventory and even train the staff.
It’s been a high touch, services-oriented approach that has been exceptionally well received. Now we’re taking the next step with a more formal offering: at the Midyear meeting, McKesson is debuting Ambulatory Pharmacy Solutions, a new portfolio of products and services. Designed to help hospital administrators evaluate whether an ambulatory pharmacy is the right solution for them, this solution models the physical and financial considerations as well as what it takes to manage the facility itself.
To demonstrate the depth and breadth of the solution portfolio, we’re showcasing a live ambulatory pharmacy at the McKesson booth, 713. It’s a sort of template for an outpatient pharmacy facility, designed to show how a hospital can deliver outpatient pharmacy services in the often small physical footprint spaces available to them. It also highlights the range of touch points and considerations that go into a successful facility.
If you’re attending the Midyear meetings in New Orleans, please visit us at booth 713 and take a tour of the live McKesson Ambulatory Pharmacy Solutions showcase. We’ve got a team of pharmacy experts on hand to give you a guided tour, discuss the considerations that go into modeling, building and managing an outpatient facility and, of course, answer your questions.
If you are unable to attend Midyear and have to remain back at the office, please click this link to learn more about this solution set. And please let us know what you think! We’re eager to hear your feedback about this new initiative.
